Edgar Allan’s Poe death is still a mystery to everyone because there are so many theories of how he could have died. On October 3rd, fours days before his death, he was found on the streets of Baltimore, completely delirious, and possibly on drugs or very drunk. He was semiconscious. He was wearing cheap clothes that didn’t fit him correctly. He wasn’t dressed like he used to dress. The theory behind that is that his clothes were stolen. Poe was taken to the Washington College Hospital. For the next few days he passed from delirium to unconsciousness, he never fully recovered to tell the doctors what had happened to him. Poe died on October 7, 1849 in Washington College Hospital. In the morning of his death he said “Lord, help my poor soul” and then passed away. He was buried on October 9th in Westminster Presbyterian Church in Baltimore, Maryland. People thought that he died from brain congestion, but there are still other theories. Some of them are alcohol, rabies, suicide, murder, beating and more. Even with all these theories, Poe’s death still remains unknown. Many scholars, medical professional and many other people have been trying to solve the mystery of Poe’s death for over 150 years.
