The '''Small Throne Room''' of the [[Winter Palace]], [[St petersburg]], also known as the Peter the Great Memorial Hall, has columns of [[jasper]]. The room was created during a rebuilding of the palace in 1833, bt the architect Auguste Montferrand. <ref>[http://www.hermitagemuseum.org/html_En/05/hm5_1_17.html State Hermitage Museum (1833)] retrieved 29 September 2008</ref> Here, during the era of the Tsars [[diplomat]]s gathered on New Years Day to offer good wishes to the Tsar. <ref>Budberg, p 201.</ref>

Following a fire of 1837, the room wwas recreated in its original style.
