Unsourced material
I've removed all material which I was unable to source. However, much of it consists of good content and I don't want to delete it, so I'm placing it on this subpage. If anyone can locate a source which verifies some or all of this info, please reinstate it. Thanks. Serendipodous 12:27, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Oh no!
Holy linkspam, Batman! WP:NOT a collection of external links, and this lot needs serious pruning. Any site which does not pass WP:WEB should not be here unless used as a source for a fact in the article (excluding the fact of the existence of the site, of course). Just zis <span style="border: 1px; border-style:solid; padding:0px 2px 2px 2px; color:white; background-color:darkblue; font-weight:bold">Guy</span> you know? 10:50, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

agh! i read about an upcoming movie somewhere. it was something along the lines of barry potter and the sorcerers balls. i cant remember.

Random much?
So, "Harry Twatter, Satirical (Possibly Fictional) title insinuating pornographic reference." is that say that the book may not even exist, and it's just there for the fun of it being there? Shamess 08:57, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

AL!
Did you know (and should I put up) that the "Squid Hat", an obvious parody of the Sorting Hat, was played by "Weird Al" Yankovic in the Billy & Mandy episodes? -StrongBad27 13:40, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
OK, I've given this a cleanup
Anything further needed, or should I take the tag down?
EDIT: I've taken the tag down. If someone feels it still needs a cleanup, put it back.

Any other movie parodies?
So far the only cinema Harry Potter parody that I know of is in Epic Movie; surely that can't be the only one? Serendipodous 11:16, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Only Fools and Horses Parody
I've never really watched Only Fools and Horses much, but I do remember an episode where Rodney and Del Boy try to make a novel which they entitled "Garry Trotter". But does anyone know which episode this is from? --Phill talk Edits 09:30, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
:Only three episodes of OFAH were produced after Harry Potter; "If They Could See Us Now", "Strangers on the Shore" and "Sleepless in Peckham". I can't find any references to a novel in any of those episodes. Serendipodous 09:16, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

harry potter in lego
okay, i watched this, and it was not very good. i have to say i usually dont make fun of people if i dont like something they made, but this video is just poorly done. you can watch it yourself, there's a whole lot of lines taken from potter puppet pals, and the rest of the lines just aren't very good. these videos are a dime a dozen, and let me say the are DOZENS of these amatuer vidoes on youtube and google. DOZENS. i think this particular one doesn't exactly need recognition. can we take this one off?
:Yeah OK Serendipodous 06:51, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Name of Lizzie McGuire episode
What was the name of the episode in which the class was asked to read more? Serendipodous 10:41, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
Harry Plopper pig
The Simpsons Movie reference has gone uncited for days. I can't find any direct mentions of the trailer online, so unless one appears within the next 48 hours, I'm taking that ref down. Serendipodous 11:31, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
:Edit: found a good source. It's back in. Serendipodous 05:53, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Anyone who speaks Japanese
Could they find a source for the Smap Smap reference? I'll keep it up for a week or so but I'll have to take it down if I can't find a source for it. <b><font color="#00b">Serendi</font><font color="#b00">pod</font><font color="#00b">ous</font></b> 07:43, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Agreeing with 'Oh No' and 'Random Much'
Some of the examples, such as the youtube video and 40-minute film of Barry Potter seem more like self-promotion, especially since another one of the youtube video's creators' videos is mentioned. Or I could just be paranoid...--Romulus 02:30, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
:I agree. The hard part is figuring out which are notable enough to be kept and which should be deleted. <b><font color="#00b">Serendi</font><font color="#b00">pod</font><font color="#00b">ous</font></b> 06:39, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Merger proposal
Exact same subject matter. One is just older then the other. <span style="color:#171788;font-weight:bold">Q</span> T C 21:33, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
:I assume you're talking about Parodies of Harry Potter. I do intend to merge the two, but I can't do anything until this AfD is taken down. <b><font color="#00b">Serendi</font><font color="#b00">pod</font><font color="#00b">ous</font></b> 06:59, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

::Wow; I didn't even know that there were two seperate pages until now!--Romulus 00:00, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
:::Me neither. Depending on what happens to the AfD (consensus appears to be keep), the separate article should of course be merged and redirected to this one. --Deathphoenix ʕ 17:10, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
::::There are two possible scenarios to resolve this (assuming of course, that this interminable deletion odyssey is resolved first). The first is that these two articles be merged. That would be problematic, as much of the information in Parodies of Harry Potter is unsourced and, from where I'm sitting at least, unsourceable. Anyone after the article's deletion now would whet their fangs at the merged one. The new article would also be extremely long, even assuming that I manage to determine which members of the list are worthy of removal. The second option is to delete Parodies of Harry Potter and go back to the way things were. Most people involved appear to favour that option, and I think it's the least problematic. <b><font color="#00b">Serendi</font><font color="#b00">pod</font><font color="#00b">ous</font></b> 17:47, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
:::::Simple solution is to only merge sourced information, and remove the rest. --Deathphoenix ʕ 18:42, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
::::::OK; I'll merge it whole and then we can decide which parts to excise. <b><font color="#00b">Serendi</font><font color="#b00">pod</font><font color="#00b">ous</font></b> 19:04, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
:Restore and delete - Happy-melon created Parodies of Harry Potter in a hurry without first checking to see if another list already existed, and without looking for concensus as to whether it should have been done. He stated in his talk page that he was acting boldly would revert the changes and then initiate a discussion if his board edits caused problems, which they seem to have done. I move to restore the original pages (which he simply changed to redirects), go back to the way things were and link to the long articles from the existing list since that follows proper naming structure for a list. Then delete Parodies of Harry Potter since two articles on this are redundant. Hewinsj 19:36, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
::The discussion just started a few days ago, isn't it a little soon to delete this well established list so quickly in favor of the newer one that doesn't indicate that it is a list in it's own title? Hewinsj 19:40, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
:::It hasn't been deleted, just redirected. Should the issue be decided, then a simple reversion would be enough to break it apart. I redirected it mainly because until this issue is resolved I don't want two articles talking about the same thing. <b><font color="#00b">Serendi</font><font color="#b00">pod</font><font color="#00b">ous</font></b> 08:07, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
::::It's cool, I posted that on my lunch break the other day and only just had time to catch up. I've been casually keeping track of things since Happy Melon's original merge which I think could have been handled better. The original list that you work on was fine, and only some of the info in those articles needed to be merged in. Linking to some of the longer articles with a short description in the list would have been fine. Creating a second list was unnecessary and just confuses things.
