The Vacancy

Hello!

Did you mean to put a NPOV tempate on The Vacancy? If so, you probably need to explain why on the article's talk page. I think you might be right, for what it's worth - I orginally put the article up for speedy deletion, but some kind soul saved it. Naturenet | Talk 28 June 2005 11:49 (UTC)

I really meant that, and I've just started the talk page. Conscious 28 June 2005 12:42 (UTC)

incorrect stub

Hi, just thought I'd let you know I changed an incorrect stub-sorting you did. Sadistic Ritual Abuse refers to an alleged crime, not to the consensual practices of BDSM. You might want to go back and find a more fitting stub. -- Antaeus Feldspar 17:27, 18 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Stub problem!

Dear Conscious, thanks for the edit on Cyril O'Reilly, I really appreciate it but the stub information is bit problem here, O'Reilly is known as an actor not a writer, so I think we should remove the writer stub tag. I changed it to the us-actor-stub. Thanks for the edit. --Cyril Thomas 11:21, 21 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Categorizing Historical Provinces of Japan

I think it might be better to leave historical provinces of Japan under the current japan-geo-stub category rather than cateogorizing them under prefectural geo-stubs. My reasoning is that there are still many that fall under more than one, and so for the sake of consistency, it would be better to keep them all together under one group. That's only my opinion, though, and I don't plan to change anything until I know that you and others who have categorized these know what I think. That's all. Thanks for your hard work in re-categorizing this huge category!

Iwate geo stub

Hi - First, thanks for helping subcategorize the Japan geo stubs. I've been going through the prefectures adding information about the mergers that are occurring, and noticed the Iwate geo stub image. I haven't looked at the rest of them, but the image for this one looks pretty much like an ink splotch (I realize it's actually the prefecture). Is there really nothing better available? How about the prefecture's symbol? Or perhaps something including the entire outline of Japan, perhaps something based on this image from the Japanese wikipedia (e.g. http://ja.wikipedia.org/upload/5/5d/Japan_stub.png, which I think is the image for their equivalent of japan-geo-stub - I think the characters are shi-cho-mura)? In any event the current image is, let's say, highly inscrutable. -- Rick Block (talk) 05:23, 22 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

AM1 stubb

Changing the physics stub to a quantum stub seems a good idea, but we have to be consistent and there are lots of stuff under computational chemistry or quantum chemistry that have the physics stub. I'll try to fix some as I go along. Bduke 22:24, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Stubs

Thanks for your notice, although ultimately I think "the regulars" are doing more harm than I am, particularly since I believe they're pretty much in violation of WP:OWN, and they think i'm no doubt in violation of WP:POINT. So, we're pretty much in a statemate, so I believe this is clear WP:IAR territory. We're probably going to keep on having problems until WP:WSS/NG is simplified to the point where it isn't even necessary. I want it so a newcomer on RC or RP patrol can type in a stub instinctively can be done without having to refrence any other pages. karmafist 17:18, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Alternative

Ask and ye shall recieve. It's sad that it's come to the point where you have to kick and stomp your feet apparently in order to get anyone to listen to you around here in regards to policy. People rarely listen at the Village Pump, since I assume they're too busy with their own concerns to listen to anyone else's. karmafist 18:00, 12 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

lol, see what I meant with the Village Pump? I guarantee you that discussion isn't likely to result in anything. All I can hope for is some support for the wiki-legislature plan or something like it I detailed in my candidate statements so at least there's some light at the end of the tunnel for people like me, y'know? Hope there were no hard feelings. karmafist 18:51, 12 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

What Consensus?

I didn't even bother with the Village Pump in regards to the stub naming because it's little more than a bunch of people spouting things off. Except in places like RFA or AFD where there are fairly clear avenues for gaining consensus and documenting when consensus is/would be achieved, there is no consensus on Wikipedia, and when people say they get consensus elsewhere, I just ignore them. No offense. karmafist 16:01, 14 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The Movement

What does this one think of the movement? --Kin Khan 01:59, 22 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Conscious,

Wikipedia:WikiProject Football is starting a football Article Improvement Drive. This is a weekly collaboration to improve football (soccer) articles to featured article status. Articles to be improved can be nominated by registered users, with an explanation of what work is needed. Each Sunday, the article with the most support votes is chosen and then worked on to make it better than what it is. You're invited to take part in the drive, and also join the WikiProject Football. Thanks. -Aabha (talk) 11:22, 27 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Stub templates

Could I ask you to specify your point - "Please stop creating stub templates" is so general a statement I can't agree with it in any length.. If you allow me to take a guess, I would think you're talking about the various footybio-stubs I've made, and to that: no, I see no point in stopping - by making cats for each country, the euro-footybio-stub category actually becomes useful rather than the big mess it is now. I'll grant you that Swiss and Romanian stubs were pretty dumb, but I did think there were more entries, but Dutch and Portugese categories would have been better when I look at it now. But I can't see why you object to French or German categories, as they each have more entries than the Danish category. So, in short, please specify your criticism please. Poulsen 17:53, 27 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

There's a big flaw in how you count stubs, though. Even though you can determine how many stubs are from each country in the European category, browsing through the "xxx footballers" categories shows that almost all articles are stubs, so I suspect quite a few more stub categories are needed.Poulsen 15:01, 28 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it was effective in making me stop and think! Perhaps I've taken the Wikipedia:Be bold a little too serious - I can't deny that if you hadn't written me, I'ld now be spending my time doing {{Liechtenstein-footybio-stub}} :D Poulsen 04:04, 2 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

FIFA World Cup qualification

Thanks for revamping the page. I had originally started the page late at night, and that is unexcuseable... but thanks for updating to make it look snazzy. Ian Manka Questions? Talk to me! 20:59, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Football AID

Thank you for participating in the Football AID vote this week.

Football World Cup has been selected as this week's collaboration. Please do help in working to improve it.

World Cup

Hi!

Since we're the only ones who seem to be working on the article right now, can we decide on specific things to be done, so that there is no duplication of work? About the number of participants in the qualifying for 2006, are you sure it is 197? I remember reading somewhere that it was more than 200. -Aabha (talk) 19:55, 2 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This was just meant for now, as both of us were doing it at the same time. Anyways. -Aabha (talk) 20:08, 2 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I've added the Football World Cup#Seletion of hosts, with most of the information just from what I can remember. The paragraph on the 2006 controversy was taken from old versions of Football World Cup 2006, but they don't have references there. So I'll try to find a few references in the coming week. Thanks. Request

Hi Conscious,

My exams are starting (they go on till the 19th of January), so I'm having to take a break. I'm feeling really guilty about not having participated in the AID this week as much as I would've liked to, and I'm sorry about that :( Now I have to ask you for a favour - if I'm unable to update the AID page and other stuff related to it on the 8th and 15th, will you please do it these two weeks? Do let me know if you would, I'll be really grateful. Thanks a lot. -Aabha (talk) 17:10, 6 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a ton! -Aabha (talk) 17:25, 6 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Maoririder/Jingofetts

I'd just like to thank you for helping out with the FIFA World Cup set of articles in general... you have made so many contributions, especially in the peer review of FIFA World Cup. Thanks!
