The Álftafjarðargöng are a planned road tunnel in the Westfjords of Iceland .

It should improve the traffic connection from Ísafjörður to the east in the Álftafjörður with the place Súðavík . The tunnel in the course of the Djúpvegur S61 replace the Arnarnessgöng . This is the oldest tunnel in the country. The tunnel planning from 2000 envisaged a 2700 m long tunnel from Arnardalur to Álftafjörður. Now four different, longer variants are proposed directly from Skutulsfjörður , which shorten the driving distance considerably. The preliminary investigations began in July 2018.
