Ásgeir Eyjólfsson (born May 4, 1929 in Reykjavík ) is a former Icelandic ski racer .

Career

Ásgeir started at club level for Glímufélagið Ármann from Reykjavík. In February 1952 he took part in the alpine skiing competitions at the Winter Olympics in Oslo , Norway . In the giant slalom , the then 22-year-old Icelander finished 63rd out of 83 starters after 3: 06.4 minutes. On the following day, Ásgeir reached 52nd place in the downhill race in 3: 08.3 minutes out of 81 runners who had started. At the final slalom on February 19th, Ásgeir was the only compatriot to qualify for the second run of the 33 best. After a cumulative 2: 16.1 min, he was 27th and thus achieved his best Olympic result.
