Central Medical Library
The Medical Central Library (ÄZB) is the central specialist library of the medical faculty of the University of Hamburg .
Library profile
The public area extends over 4 floors (including a gallery) with a total of 1,267 m². The library has a textbook collection with around 24,000 volumes, numerous audiovisual media, monographs, 250 current journals and 3,500 electronic journals. The total inventory of the library amounts to approx. 300,000 media. In addition to group work rooms, there are 217 reading places, but also showcases for exhibitions.
35 public PCs with internet connection, 6 public photocopiers, a self-booking system and a multimedia room are available to users. From the workstations there is not only online access to the library's media inventory, but also to Medline, EMBASE, the Science Citation Index, CCC, JCR, PsycInfo, the Social Science Citation Index and Psyndex.
