from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Åland24 is a private regional television broadcaster in the autonomous region of Åland . As the name suggests, the program can be received around the clock. However, there are currently still rural regions in which the program can only be received for 30 minutes on six days. The largest shareholder in the company, which is organized as a public limited company, is the regional, Swedish-language daily newspaper Nya Åland (New Åland) . The company was founded in 2009 through the acquisition of the technology provider P24 Media .

Most of the funding comes from advertising revenue. The customer center and the editorial office are located in the north of Mariehamn near the airport. Stefan Rumander is in charge.

In 2010 Åland24 employed five full-time employees on a freelance basis. The proximity to Nya Åland gives Åland24 access to the daily news and contact to the staff who process current reports and also make this information available to Åland24. This results in weekly short reports.
