Étoile d'Or (film award)
The Étoile d'or du cinéma français is a French film award . It was founded in 1999 by Jean-Luc Favriau and has since been awarded by the Académie de la presse du cinéma français .
The prize aims to honor outstanding French film productions . Nominations are sent to the Academy by 700 French film journalists, who then select from among those nominated.
It is awarded in the following categories:
- Best movie
- Best director
- Best Screenplay (since 2005)
- Best first work (since 2001)
- Best Documentary (since 2006)
- Best main actress
- Best Actor
- Best young actor
- Best Score (since 2001)
- Best production (since 2004)
- Best film exploitation (since 2004)
- Honorary award
- Best Foreign Film (2000 Only)
- Great Special Prize of the Press (1999–2003)
