Ô Paradis

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ô Paradis is an avant-garde group from Catalonia . The band was founded in the late 1990s by singer and songwriter Demian and has style elements between pop , folklore and experimental music in the post-industrial tradition.

The music of Paradis is song-oriented, most of the songs are mid-tempo or downtempo numbers and have a catchy melody. The singing (performed almost exclusively in Demian's mother tongue) can be described as "warm" and slightly melancholy and complements a full and harmonious sound. However, this should not hide the fact that the sound often comes from heterogeneous, sometimes sampled sound sources.

Ô Paradis can be understood as a kind of solo project by Demian, in which changing guest musicians participate. Among the best known are J. Weber and Miss Tost from Novy Svet and Gerhard Petak von Allerseelen . Ô Paradis are enjoying growing popularity in German-speaking countries with listeners of neofolk , neoclassical and industrial music. The band's releases are now on the Italian label Punch Records .
