Ecomons
As Ökomone (singular Ökomon) or Ökochemikalien be referred to substances that are excreted by animals or plants and in an ecosystem between individuals of a type different types or between individuals are effective. They are beneficial to the sender or recipient.
As a substance that transmits ecologically significant information , an ecomon is a semiochemical substance.
The following groups of substances belong to the ecomons:
- Pheromones
- Allomone
- Cairomones
- the allelochemicals responsible for allelopathy
- Phytoalexins
The ecomons also include toxins and inhibitors that have no advantage for the producer himself.
