Östergarnsholm is a small Swedish Baltic Sea - island in front of Gotland . It is four kilometers east of Grogarnsberget and the socks Östergarn .

Ostergarnsholm
Östergarnsholm is also a Fornborg , like Grogarnsberget

The island has three lighthouses : Östergarnsholm in the west of the island was built in 1817. It was originally coal-fired, but was later expanded and modernized in 1849 and fitted with an oil-fired lamp. The lighthouse was shut down in 1919. Next to him are the remains of the house for the lighthouse keepers.

In 1919 the second lighthouse, the 29 meter high Östergarn , was built from concrete. The lighthouse is still in operation.

In 1949, a small lighthouse, Östergarnsholm-West , was built on Östergarnsholm's western cape, closer to the water than the first lighthouses.

The only accommodation on the small island are stables for the Gotland sheep that live here. Excursions to the island are offered to tourists in summer.
