Austria Convention

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Austria Convention was a political constitutional convention in Austria and discussed proposals for a fundamental state and constitutional reform from June 30, 2003 to January 31, 2005. It was set up on May 2, 2003 by a founding committee that determined the tasks and composition of the Convention. Under the chairmanship of Franz Fiedler , the Austria Convention prepared a comprehensive report, which was presented on January 28, 2005. The report was forwarded by the Federal Chancellor to the National Council, where a committee has been discussing the further course of state and constitutional reform since July 5, 2005.

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Convention in 2015, it was found that only a few projects have been implemented since then and that the most important goals of the Austria Convention have not been considered.
