Scoop - The Ripper ( Scoop ) is a dramatic television series about newspaper journalists. The four seasons were first released in Canada from 1992 to 1995 . Macha Grenon played the main role .
action
The journalist Michel Gagné starts working for the daily Express in Montréal . Soon he gets closer to Stéphanie Rousseau - the main character of the series. Her father Emile, a wealthy media mogul, owns the paper. Stéphanie accidentally becomes pregnant by Michel. Their relationship is problematic, but she gives birth to a son, Francis.
Daily newspaper life, the hunt for stories and the private problems of journalists are also shown. Lionel Rivard has problems with alcoholism and therefore with his boyfriend. Léonne Vigneault's marriage fails, but she finds happiness with another man and their baby. Richard Fortin, called Tintin , and Gabriella Salvatore become a romantic couple. Their hope for offspring remains unsuccessful. Most of the colleagues later switched to the new competition paper Scoop , which Emile finances for his daughter.
The third season, in which Stéphanie is kidnapped to extort ransom from her father, is particularly dramatic. She is freed but completely scared. Her father avenges her by forcing the new owner of the Express , whom he holds responsible, to financially and sell. Michel is trapped in an underground mine while doing research. He can be rescued, but Emile's helicopter crashes on the way there.
In the fourth season, Stéphanie's father sits paralyzed in a wheelchair, which is so psychologically stressful for him that he puts an end to his life. His daughter takes over the far-reaching media company. She turns Scoop into a tabloid. Michel is having trouble with her new role. He leaves her and their son and takes a new job in Paris.
