Bridging aid

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bridging aid is financial support for Austrian federal and state employees after they have left the public service, provided that there is no pension or pension benefit or entitlement to unemployment benefits under the Unemployment Insurance Act. This mainly affects federal and state civil servants for whom the employer does not pay any unemployment insurance contributions.

Bridging assistance is paid out by the Public Employment Service in accordance with the Bridging Assistance Act in the same way as unemployment benefits , whereby the employment relationships are to be treated as if they had been subject to unemployment insurance . The amount and duration are also calculated according to the unemployment benefit, as is the extended bridging allowance in the same way as the emergency allowance and the special bridging allowance in the same way as the transitional allowance.

Persons who were employed by a state fund, foundation or establishment may also be entitled to bridging assistance. As with state employees, the federal government only advances the service and the costs are reimbursed by the former employers.
