Translators without limits

Translators Without Borders ( Translators without Borders ) is a nonprofit organization based in Danbury (Connecticut) that supports other humanitarian organizations with translations. A network of volunteer translators is used. More than 3000 volunteers take part in the translations for at least 490 aid organizations. The organization can currently offer translations between 104 language pairs.

The predecessor organization was founded in 1993 as Traducteurs Sans Frontières by Lori Thicke and Ros Smith-Thomas in Paris. The reason was a translation request from Doctors Without Borders . The founders decided to provide the organization with the translations pro bono.
