Overload

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term overvoltage has different meanings:

  • In electrical engineering, this is understood to mean the occurrence of a voltage that exceeds the nominal voltage of an electrical system (see overvoltage (electrical engineering) ).
  • In electrochemistry, the overvoltage is the difference between the equilibrium galvanic voltage and the decomposition voltage under current flow (see Overvoltage (electrochemistry) ).
  • In construction, the span describes the length of bridges, arches, supporting structures, cable systems or the like,
  • In mechanics, mechanical tension in components that exceeds normal levels .
