The ČSA 312.001 was a three- coupled tank locomotive of the Czechoslovak Army (ČSA).

history

The 312.001 was built in 1924 after an order from the Czechoslovak Ministry of Defense for the purposes of the Czechoslovak Army by První česko-moravská in Prague with the serial number 942. It was used by the Pardubice Railway Regiment ( Železniční pluk Pardubice ). In 1938 it was redesignated as 312.901 according to the ČSD numbering scheme for private railway locomotives.

On November 2, 1965, the ČSD acquired the locomotive from the Czechoslovak People's Army in order to use it as a factory locomotive in the Nymburk depot. On November 5, 1969, she was retired there.

technical features

The locomotive's boiler was located higher than that of the 310.0 series . But that didn't make him more productive. The heating surface was slightly larger than that of the 310.0 series. The frame of the machine also served as a water basin with a considerable volume (6.3 m³). The steam engine was a two-cylinder engine, it had a Heusinger control , already had piston valves , but still worked with wet steam . All three axles were fixed in the frame, the third axle was the driving axle.
