İhsan Aksoy

İhsan Aksoy (* 1944 in Ağrı ) is a Turkish- and Kurdish-speaking author living in Germany. He also worked as a publisher and editor of a newspaper in Turkey in the 1970s.

The first literary works were created around 1966. These were shorter contributions such as poetry, stories and journalism, which were published in Turkish newspapers, sometimes also in Turkish-Kurdish ones. He began his publishing activities in 1977 at the newspaper Demokrası , on which he also worked as an editor. He was also the publishing director of the Perkanin .

In 1980 Aksoy emigrated to Germany. Since then he has published novels and shorter stories, both in Kurdish and in Turkish. His novel Das Lied der Kurden (1994) was translated into German .
