The iorites

The Iorite ( Japanese 庵 点 ) is a Japanese musical punctuation mark that is used to mark the beginning or the next part of a song. It is often used in Renga and books. The Japanese name recalls the resemblance of the sign to the roof of a small house.

The character is encoded in Unicode under the code point U + 303D, but the character is only supported by a few fonts, which is why the character is often used as a substitute .
