1. All-Orthodox Assembly in Rhodes
The 1st All -Orthodox Assembly (English Pan-Orthodox Meeting at Rhodos ) was a meeting of representatives of all Orthodox patriarchates from September 24th to October 1st, 1961 on the Greek island of Rhodes .
It was inspired by the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople Athenagoras and resumed the preparatory process begun in 1902 for the first modern all-Orthodox Holy and Great Council . It was an important step within the pan-orthodox movement .
