10BROAD36

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

10BROAD36 is an Ethernet standard ( IEEE 802.3 Clause 11) for 10 Mbit / s Ethernet via a standard TV coaxial cable with 75 ohm impedance.

The range without amplifier is 3600 meters. In contrast to conventional Ethernet variants, where the signal is modulated in the baseband, 10BROAD36 used a method without a carrier wave .

The system was not very successful because the hardware cost was very high.
