The 1951 Monza 2 hour race , also III. Coppa Inter-Europa, Monza , was a sports car race that took place in Monza on April 15, 1951 .

The race

In 1951 the Coppa Inter-Europa was run in three races. Vehicles with a displacement of up to 0.75 liters were the first to enter the market. This event was won by the Italian Elio Zagato in a Fiat Zagato after a driving time of 2 hours . A few minutes after crossing the finish line in the field, the racing cars up to 1.5-liter cubic capacity started. The race ended with the success of Giulio Musitelli , who drove a Cisitalia 202B, ahead of his compatriot Cesare Maderna , who drove a Fiat 1100SS , and Gianfranco Comotti , who also drove a Cisitalia .

The main race for sports cars over 1.5 liter displacement ended with the victory of the Ferrari factory driver Luigi Villoresi .
