- 272nd Infantry Division (Wehrmacht) , formed in Belgium in December 1943 from remnants of the 216th Infantry Division , fought in France in 1944. From what was left in September 1944, the 272nd Volksgrenadier Division was formed, which took part in the battle in the Hürtgenwald and disbanded in the Ruhr basin .
- 272nd Motorized Rifle Division (Soviet Union) , emerged from the 46th Motorized Rifle Division in 1964, stationed in Babstowo ( Jewish Autonomous Oblast ), renamed the 128th Fortress Artillery Division in 1989.
