3-R method

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 3-R method is a tool for investigating gender-specific issues.

The method was developed in Sweden in the 1990s. It consists of the steps of representation, resources and realization.

  • In the case of representation , the quantitative distribution of the sexes in certain tasks is examined - especially through statistics.
  • In terms of resources , the distribution of resources such as money, time and space between women and men is determined.
  • In the realization it comes to the investigation of causes of differences between the sexes and the development of methods for change.

The method was extended by the fourth R.

  • Legal situation that examines whether laws, ordinances and instructions offer sufficient protection against discrimination.
