3803 KM

3803 KM is the name of a certain type of transmission tower , which was built from 1954 in numerous larger cities of the Soviet Union . The transmission towers were built using a steel framework and were used to broadcast VHF and TV programs.

A 3803 KM is 180 meters high and has a platform for receiving directional radio antennas at 140 meters and 148 meters. 23 units were built in Ukraine alone . Many of them are still a prominent landmark in many larger cities in the former Soviet Union. Some transmission towers have been dismantled and rebuilt elsewhere. The 3803 KM tower was developed by the State Institute for Steel Construction of the Soviet Union.
