4.0 was a four-piece American R&B band. It celebrated short-lived success in the US charts in 1997.

The ballad Have a Little Mercy, produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis , was released in the summer of 1997 , and it became a minor hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and lasted for 20 weeks. In the genre-specific R&B charts, the single rose to number 28. In September 1997, the band's debut album was released by the record label A&M Records , which only reached number 100 on the R&B album charts.
