6G

6G ( / sɪks dʒiː / ; is derived from English sixth generation or translated into German  sixth generation [of mobile communications] ) is a future mobile communications standard that is intended to be the successor to 5G .

One goal of the research on 6G that began in 2017 is to be able to achieve data transfer rates of up to 400 Gbit / s. Employees at scientific institutions around the world, including the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Solid State Physics and the Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications HHI , are researching technical implementation options. In China, a research and development work group on 6G was set up by the Ministry of Science and Technology in early November 2019. In addition to government representatives, this working group also includes employees from leading technology companies (including Intel, Huawei, Samsung and Sony).
