A-line skirt

The A-line is a fashion silhouette corresponding to the capital letter “A” for women's clothing, with naturally narrow shoulders and a width that swings out towards the hem of the skirt (trapezoidal cut). The waist is often shifted slightly upwards, the width downwards often comes from the back.

This clothing line was designed in 1955 by the French designer Christian Dior . The term is also used for dresses and jackets.
