WG Peace Research

The AG Friedensforschung (AGF) is an independent working group at the University of Kassel , which consists of seven former and current university members from various departments. Professors emeritus Peter Strutynski (1945–2015) and Werner Ruf are in charge . The AG Peace Research is to be distinguished from the partly named “ Working Group Peace Research and European Security Policy ” (AFES-PRESS eV), which has been registered as a non-profit international scientific association since 1987.

Program and activities

According to its own statements, the WG Peace Research deals with international law , human rights and peace research , the political causes of international crises , world, foreign and security policy, conflict prevention , pacifism , the ban on weapons of mass destruction and global disarmament . The aim is the outlawing and abolition of all wars. The AGF is a member of the “ Federal Committee on Peace Council ”, a Germany-wide association of individuals, peace initiatives and organizations with a focus on peace policy.

The working group carries out public relations work and documents in its web archive articles on world politics, peace and crisis topics, mainly from publications representing left political positions such as Junge Welt and Neues Deutschland .
