ALA-LC transcription
The ALA-LC transcription ( ALA-LC romanization or Library of Congress romanization ), mostly abbreviated as ALA-LC , is a transcription or transcription for a non-Latin writing system into the Latin script , which corresponds to the for the respective source language of the American Library Association American US together with the Library of Congress established standard follows.
These transcription standards are used by North American libraries and (for purchases since 1975) by the British Library . It is therefore often used in English-language publications.
