AOL-Phone is a VoIP service that has been offered by the US online service AOL since April 5, 2004 . With AOL-Phone, owners of Internet broadband access can make calls over the Internet line with their existing telephone . The computer does not have to be switched on.

Services

AOL-Phone includes standard ISDN functions and additional services such as a telephony mailbox , caller ID display, call forwarding, call waiting and toggling . There is also a daily updated individual connection record and a so-called blacklist , a list that can be used to block incoming and outgoing calls by phone number. AOL customers receive a free landline number from their own place of residence and have the option of having this entered in the public telephone book free of charge. All 5200 area codes are available. The landline number is currently not portable to other VoIP providers. ENUM is currently not supported.

An AOL member account is not required to use AOL-Phone.
