APDHB

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

APDHB ( Asamblea Permanente de Derechos Humanos de Bolivia ) is the abbreviation for the "Permanent Human Rights Assembly of Bolivia ".

The association, based in La Paz , was founded in 1976 and gained worldwide recognition in 1998 when its President Waldo Albarracín was awarded the Amnesty International Human Rights Prize in Aachen . She campaigns for the creation of a culture of peace ( una cultura de paz ) in her country and for a "just and solidary Bolivia" ( Bolivia Justa y Solidaria ).

In addition to helping and advising victims, criminal prosecution of state and official arbitrariness such as violent attacks, torture , embezzlement , corruption , etc. is sought. Social problems are also addressed and trade union formations are promoted. Seminars and workshops on civil rights and human rights in general are part of the expanded offer. Another field of work is the fight for the rights of the 36 indigenous ethnic groups in Bolivia, such as the Mojeños.

The APDHB is religiously and politically independent. Volunteers from all over the world can register to support the organization.
