APRS label system

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The APRS label system is one of the UK A ssociation of P ROFESSIONAL R ecording S ervices developed system for labeling in recording studios used bands.

Color coding enables a clearly visible subdivision into different categories:

Session tape A multi-track, multitrack tape that contains session recordings with single tracks.
Original master A two-track master tape with rough mixes.
Production Master The production master tape contains all the mixed tracks in the order in which they are later to be released on sound carriers. In addition, subcodes / track IDs may be included depending on the type of tape (e.g. DAT).
Production Master Copy / Clone Since the final master tape remains with the rights holder (studio / producer or record company), a copy is made for the production of the sound carrier and in the event that the record company has claims to the original tape due to the contract. This remains with the producer / studio.
Safety copy / clone Backup copy of a tape. Check options: Copy, Clone (the latter means a 1: 1 transfer).
Not for Production This tape is not intended for the production of sound carriers / duplication. B. for layouts or outtakes .
Media version Indication of the media for which the tape is intended (check options: radio, TV, film or video).
PQ-encoded master tape U-Matic tape with CD subcodes for track numbers, lengths, etc. (see Premaster ). Less important nowadays, as computers with CD burners can easily do this coding and even blank CDs can be used as premasters.
