The AQHA Heritage Center and Museum

The American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) is a breeding association for American Quarter Horses based in Amarillo , Texas . With over 5 million registered horses, it is the largest horse breeding association in the world. In addition, the AQHA is the umbrella organization for all international American Quarter Horse associations.

The AQHA World Championship is held every year in Oklahoma City. This World Show is endowed with over 2.5 million dollars each year.

The museum has a Hall of Fame for Quarter Horses and people who have earned Quarter Horses. Outstanding Quarter Horses are inducted into the Hall of Fame, for example Poco Lena and her son Doc O'Lena .
