Peder Kolstad
Peder Ludvik Kolstad (born November 28, 1878 in Borge , Østfold , † March 5, 1932 in Oslo ) was a Norwegian politician of the Peasant Party .
Life
Before his time as a politician, Kolstad was the principal of an agricultural school in Fylke Østfold from 1912 . He also belonged to the Storting from 1922 , where he represented Østfold.
Kolstad was Prime Minister of Norway from May 12, 1931 until his death in 1932. During this period he also served as Minister of Finance. During his reign the dispute with Denmark fell, which lasted from 1931 to 1933 after Norwegian companies occupied the east of Greenland on a private initiative and tried to establish Eirik Raudes Land . Kolstad's government subsequently recognized the occupation, although he himself was against the action. The International Court of Justice upheld Denmark in 1933 and Norwegian claims were abandoned.
