  • 1604 : Franz von Sales and Johanna Franziska von Chantal meet for the first time in Dijon . From this encounter a spiritual friendship develops, which on June 6th 1610 leads to the foundation of the Order of the Visitation of Mary or Salesian Sisters .

1916: Principe de Asturias
  • 1916 : The Spanish luxury liner Príncipe de Asturias hits a rock off Santos on the Brazilian coast and sinks in just five minutes. 445 passengers and crew members die. It is one of the greatest tragedies in the history of Spanish steam navigation.
  • 1966 : A Boeing 707 of BOAC ( BOAC Flight 911 ) breaks apart in flight and crashed into the mountain Fuji in Japan. All 124 passengers die.
