Herschel Daugherty
Herschel Daugherty (born October 27, 1910 in Indiana , † March 5, 1993 in Encinitas , California ) was an American film director and actor .
Career
Herschel Daugherty began his career in 1943 as a "Dialogue Director" on smaller feature films and has worked since 1952 as a director for various television series , including Bonanza , Alfred Hitchcock Presents , Thriller , Spaceship Enterprise and Kobra, take over .
For the work on the episode The Road That Led Afar of the television series General Electric Theater , which was produced between 1953 and 1962, he was awarded the Directors Guild of America Award together with his assistant director Richard Birnie .
One of his few feature films was the Walt Disney- produced western Das Herz einer Indianers ( The Light in the Forest , 1958) based on the novel by Conrad Richter with James MacArthur , Fess Parker and Joanne Dru . With Brian Keith and Robert Culp he made the 1963 western The Rough Riders of Texas ( The Raiders ).
