Screenwriter Harry Clork was inspired by the Broadway musical No, No, Nanette (1925). The film was completed and distributed by the production company Warner Bros. The film adaptation of the musical was recorded in mono , with an aspect ratio of 1.37: 1 on 35 mm film . The film was shot at the Warner Bros. Film Studio in Burbank , California .
The film premiered in New York City on September 1, 1950 and opened in theaters a day later. The film was broadcast in West Germany on October 5, 1951.

The lexicon of international films wrote that it was a “mild musical” and “implemented in the dubbed version with badly Germanized songs”. Bosley Crowther of the New York Times rated the musical that it was "pleasantly entertaining" and "lively".
