Is Marjorie getting married? (Alternative title: Im Silbermondlicht , Original title: By the Light of the Silvery Moon ) is an American film musical by David Butler from 1953. The film is the sequel to Romance with Obstacles from 1951 by Roy Del Ruth and is based on Booth Tarkington's novel Penrod .

Marjorie Winfield is eagerly waiting for her lover Bill Sherman, who is returning from the First World War . Marjorie really wants to marry Bill. Since he takes his time and does not want to get married right away, she suspects that he is cheating on her.

The film was completed by the production company Warner Bros. and later distributed. The musical was recorded in mono and with an aspect ratio of 1.37: 1 on 35mm film .

The film premiered in New York City on March 26, 1953 . In the GDR , the film was released on April 12, 1990 in the DFF and in West Germany the film was broadcast on ProSieben on July 1, 1990 .

Bosley Crowther of the New York Times wrote that readers of Penrod will discover strong "film resemblances" and that the "jokes were played in a familiar way."
