Bell foundry Maria Laach

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Maria Laach bell foundry was a bell foundry in the art workshops of the Maria Laach Abbey in Glees in Rhineland-Palatinate .

history

Brother Michael initially trained as a bell expert for the Trier diocese . He was also an expert on the 1497 cast Gloriosa vom Domberg in Erfurt. The first bell casting took place in July 1999 in a garage of the wood store of the art workshops of the Maria Laach Abbey . The bell foundry, which consists of four men, had cast around 1,000 bells. Brother Michael Reuter thus followed up with the former Father Johannes Blessing of the abbey, who had developed improved bell profiles for several bell foundries. Operations officially ceased at the end of 2015, while existing orders were carried out in 2016.
