action
Jeff and Steven plan to open a nightclub in New York . You have to convince Vickey's grandfather Ladislaus of this project, as Vickey will perform as a singer. Jeff and Steven do not know anything about the upcoming wedding of Vickey with Martin Drew, which Ladislaus wants, because Steven falls in love with the attractive singer. Martin also tries everything to close the club.

The film was completed and distributed by the production company Warner Bros. The comedy film was recorded in mono with an aspect ratio of 1.37: 1 on 35mm film . The location was shot in Palm Springs , with further recordings made at the Warner Bros. Film Studio in Burbank , California . On March 22, 1945, announced that Jane Wyman at a pneumonia suffered and by Janis Paige would be replaced.
The film premiered in New York on December 26, 1946 and was shown in cinemas on December 28. The film was released on June 29, 1951 in West Germany and on November 16, 1951 in Austria. In German-speaking countries, the film title Krieg nach Noten was used for television.

At the 20th Academy Awards in 1948 , Leo Robin and Arthur Schwartz were nominated in the Best Song category for the song A Gal in Calico .

The lexicon of the international film wrote that the sky full of violins was an "average musical entertainment with lavish equipment". Bosley Crowther also wrote in the New York Times in December 1946 that the film adaptation of the musical was "average entertainment".
