Suzanne Anderson, known as Pepper, and her partner Bill Crowley are undercover for the moral police in Los Angeles . They are supported by detectives Pete Royster and Joe Styles.
Make-up and pistols was created as an offshoot of the Police Story series - Always in action . Angie Dickinson as an undercover police officer - at that time still under the name Lisa Beaumont - was introduced in 1974 in the double episode The Decoy . The role of Bill Crowley played here Bert Convy .
