Charles Dierkop
Charles Dierkop (born September 11, 1936 in La Crosse , Wisconsin ) is an American actor .
Life
Born and raised in La Cross, Wisconsin, Charles Dierkop attended Aquinas High School there. He began his acting career at the theater. In 1962 he appeared briefly on Broadway . At that time he was repeatedly seen in small roles in the series Merciless City , but each time uncredited . He had also made his first film appearances, including in Haie der Großstadt (also without his name being mentioned). He then appeared in Sidney Lumet's film The Pawnbroker . His main film roles have been Flat Nose Curry in Two Bandits and Floyd in The Clou , both directed by George Roy Hill and starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford . Charles Dierkop had a leading role in the 1971 film Angels Hard As They Come , the first film for which Jonathan Demme wrote the script. Charles Dierkop had guest appearances on series such as Lost Between Alien Worlds , Solo for ONCEL , Smoking Colts , Spaceship Enterprise , Batman , Bonanza , Alias Smith and Jones , Cannon , Kobra, Take Over , Kung Fu , Kojak - Use in Manhattan , Ein Colt for all cases , MacGyver or Emergency Room - The emergency room . His best-known series role was that of the detective Pete Royster , whom he played in all 91 episodes of the series Make-up and Pistols . He also had a short appearance in the video of the song Man on the Moon by REM in 1992. His trademark was his nose, which Hal Erickson said he knew how to use for his career.
He was dubbed by Hans-Werner Bussinger , Klaus Sonnenschein , Gerd Martienzen , Fred Maire and Wolfgang Völz, among others .
He was married to Joan F. Addis from 1958 until the divorce in 1974 and has two children with her.
