Matt Houston is an American television series from the 1980s . From 1982 to 1985, 67 episodes were created in three seasons.

The Texan Mattlock "Matt" Houston supervises the drilling platform of his wealthy father's company in California and also works as a private detective. He is supported by his partner Murray Chase, who contributes to the sufficient income, while Matt has fun with beautiful women in fast cars, and the lawyer CJ Parsons, whom Matt thanks to her computer, an Apple III , which she calls "Baby", with provides all important information. On the police side, Matt and CJ initially associate with LT. Novelli, who often makes a detour to Mama Novelli's restaurant with the two of them, and later also the less cooperative Lt. Hoyt. Matt's uncle Ray Houston joins them later.
In the early 1980s, Matt Houston was the first television series to broadcast Sat.1 (then PKS). It started on the first day of broadcast at 8:15 p.m. However, Sat.1 broadcast the crime series non-chronologically: for the first time from October 1, 1984 to July 16, 1987 41 episodes, then from August 14, 1990 to April 16, 1991 22 episodes afterwards and the remaining 4 episodes were enough for VOX from 4. September to October 17, 1996.
Cast and dubbing
The German dubbing was carried out on behalf of Arena Film GmbH & Co. Synchron KG at that time in Berlin-Lankwitz , Peter Wesp was responsible for the dialogue direction, and Peter Wesp and Andreas Pollak were responsible for the German dialogue book.

DVD publications
On March 9, 2010, Paramount Pictures released the first season of Matt Houston for the United States on DVD and on May 4, 2015 it was announced that the final two seasons would follow in the summer of 2015. So far there has been no German-language DVD release in Germany.
