Klaus Miedel
Klaus Miedel (born July 4, 1915 in Berlin ; † August 31, 2000 there ) was a German actor and voice actor .
Life
Klaus Miedel graduated from an acting school in Cologne from 1933 to 1935 and made his stage debut as Lucentio in Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew at the Trier City Theater in 1935 . This was followed by engagements in Trier, Krefeld and some theaters in Berlin (including the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm ) as well as many years of work at the State Drama Theaters in Berlin . He appeared occasionally in television films and in productions for school television, but was rarely seen in cinema productions. He had a bigger role in the 1966 remake of Hokuspokus or: How do I make my husband disappear ...? by Curt Goetz with Heinz Rühmann in the leading role.
From 1949 Klaus Miedel also worked extensively for radio ( RIAS Berlin ) and dubbing. In his almost 50 years of activity as a voice actor, he was the German voice of Yul Brynner (among others in Anastasia , Der König und Ich and Morituri ), of Dean Martin (among others in Ocean's Eleven / Frankie and his cronies , Sieben gegen Chicago and Everything about Anita ) and Eli Wallach (among others in Archie and Harry and The Godfather - Part III ). He also dubbed Louis de Funès (in Oscar (1967) and Balduin, the safe breaker ), Telly Savalas (in Mörder GmbH ) and Donald Pleasence (in Der Adler ist landed ).
Children of the 1970s and early 1980s should remember Klaus Miedel acoustically as the mandrill monkey Daniel in the animated series Kimba, the white lion, which was popular at the time , and as the red-haired poison dwarf Disgust in Once Upon a Time ... Man . From 1980 to 1989 he also played the role of Professor Zweistein in the popular radio play series Jan Tenner . He was also the German voice of Sheriff Donnerknall from the Pink Panther Show . As a real estate agent , Miedel had a speaking role for Benjamin Blümchen in episode 40 and appeared in a few other episodes. With Bibi Blocksberg he could be heard as Mr. Schmeichler in “Karla does not give up” (see episode 46).
Miedel had been a member of the German Stage Members' Cooperative (GDBA) since 1945 and had received all of the association's decorations. He is buried in the forest cemetery in Zehlendorf .
