Erdmann Graeser

Erdmann Graeser (born May 5, 1870 in Berlin ; † July 7, 1937 there ) was a German writer .

Life

Graeser lived in Berlin-Schöneberg for many years and after his literary success moved to Berlin-Schlachtensee in the Zehlendorf district. A plaque commemorates him on his former home, Ahrenshooper line 34, in Berlin-Zehlendorf , where he had lived since 1925. In Zehlendorf-West, the connection between the Schillerstrasse and the Forststrasse between Argentinischer Allee and Goethestrasse has been named after him since 1976.

Graeser is buried in the Zehlendorf cemetery in an honorary grave of the city of Berlin. He was a member of the Berlin Masonic Lodge To the Three Seraphim .

In his entertainment novels Graeser thematized the world of the little people in Berlin of his time and placed great emphasis on the Berlin dialect . His novels were later edited for radio and television.
