Rolf von Goth (born November 5, 1906 in Windhoek / German South West Africa ; † November 9, 1981 in Berlin ) was a German actor and radio play director .

Life

He began his film career in the late 1920s with small roles in films such as Metropolis , Don Juan in Girls' School, and Spring Awakening . His engagements became more and more numerous in the 1930s and he became a popular supporting actor. His best-known films include Boycott , Between Night and Morning , Master Detective , A Girl with Procuration and The Castle in Flanders .

During the Second World War he only played in the film The Woman of My Dreams (1944), then he retired from the film business.

After the war he went to Berlin and started a new career as a radio play director at what was then NWDR Berlin , which later became the SFB . There he was responsible for the production of over two hundred radio plays. This included, for example, the play The Love of the Four Colonels by Peter Ustinov in 1952 , in a radio adaptation by Thilo Koch . At that time, Siegfried Schürenberg , Ernst Schröder , Walter Süssenguth and Ernst Konstantin were among the speakers .
