Olof Carl Friedrich von Lindequist (born April 22, 1844 in Halberstadt , † November 28, 1903 in Kassel ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Lindequist was the son of the rentier Friedrich Stefan Adolf von Lindequist (* 1804, † September 22, 1872) and his wife Alwine Henriette Friederike Schäfer († February 7, 1878).

He graduated from the cadet corps and on May 6, 1862, was transferred to the Emperor Alexander Guard Grenadier Regiment No. 1 of the Prussian Army as a characterized portepeefähnrich . There Lindequist received the patent for his rank on December 16, 1862 and was promoted to second lieutenant on October 10, 1863 . As such, he took part in the fighting at Thrush and the Battle of Königgrätz in 1866 during the war against Austria . After the peace agreement , Lindequist acted from November 22, 1866 to July 15, 1870 as an adjutant of the 1st Battalion. He then rose to regimental adjutant, was promoted to prime lieutenant on October 8, 1870 , and was used during the war against France in the battles at Gravelotte and Sedan and the siege of Paris . After the war, Lindequist continued to serve in his regiment and was commanded to Stockholm by Oskar II at the end of April 1873 for the coronation celebrations . In the fall of 1874 he took part in the general staff training tour of the Guard Corps and, with his promotion to captain on October 12, 1875, was promoted to company commander . At the same time he was given permission to wear the regimental uniform.

Lindequist, who was a legal knight of the Order of St. John , received the character of Major General on March 28, 1901.

Lindequist married Johanna Antonie Emilie Wilhelmine von Schon on April 4, 1893 (* March 9, 1859 - June 2, 1915), widow of the captain a. D. Baron Max Kersten von Schlotheim († August 10, 1886), son of Ludwig von Schlotheim .
