Lost between strange worlds (original title: Lost in Space ) is an American science fiction television series from the late 1960s, which appeared on the comic book series Space Family Robinson from 1962 and indirectly on the children's book Der Schweizerische Robinson based by Johann David Wyss .
action
In 1997 the Robinson family is selected to leave an overpopulated earth on a space mission. Your task is to prepare a planet in the Alpha Centauri system for human colonization. When their spaceship Jupiter II is sabotaged by an agent (Dr. Zachary Smith) who traveled with them as a stowaway , the Robinsons initially find themselves on a completely different inhospitable planet, deep in unexplored space.
Now begins an odyssey through space from one planet to the next. However, all attempts to become at home on one of the planets found or to find Alpha Centauri again are carried out by Dr. Smith repeatedly thwarted. Its only goal is to return to earth.
Often, Dr. Smith and Will separate from the rest of the crew and meet monsters or their alien owners. Time travel also occurs. In case of danger, Dr. Smith mostly behind the smaller Will. The crew's nameless, speaking robot , depicted with human features , also plays an important role .
Each episode has its own storyline and new monsters. In the meantime, the crew or individual members came to the vicinity or even to earth several times, but not permanently. Also in the last episode of the series, the team remains in space.
Particularly striking are the extremely correct and theatrical pronunciation and the actions of Smith.
Charisma
From 1965 to 1968 a total of three seasons were broadcast in the USA, the first season was still shot in black and white.
